From Scraps to Skirts

I have a whole box full of scraps, trust me, I save EVERYTHING and now I'm glad I do! I put all of these together at practically no cost and in a matter of two good morning naps (thank you Baby Bex).

This one actually started out as a dress, then I realized it was way too small so I just left off the straps.
You can find tutorials for all kinds of little girls' skirts out there.
Two of my favorites are here and here.

Not sure what kind of fabric this brown crap was but I will never ever be buying it again! One of my favorite parts of sewing is the ironing, but this crap melted all over my iron! Oh well, this one was still Landon's favorite of the skirts.

More Ice Cream Social Dresses

Craft fair dresses, love this tutorial!!!

Gotta Try These, Too!

I have been SEARCHING for a new dressy skirt, one that's more church and temple appropriate. So when I saw this new tutorial I ran around the house screaming for joy. Once I get all these craft fair projects out of the way, I can't wait to start some project for me and baby bex!

I saw this bag a few weeks ago and was so thrilled when she finally posted a super detailed tutorial for it. I can't wait to try this one!!!

Purses for Craft Fair

We've been busy 'round here getting ready for the craft fair in Idaho in less than two weeks. Which means the next two weeks are going to be even crazier!
I decided to try a new purse pattern and it was EASY after the first purse. So I made the next four all at once.
Once again I used another $.99 simplicity pattern.

This was the first and I think it's my favorite. I got tons of designer fabric for dirt cheap one week through Quilthome and have been having so much fun playing with it. On this first purse I didn't have interfacing so it's a little more flexible but less sturdy.

I added rosettes at the ends of the handles instead of buttons.

Don't mind the crappy crooked cutting job on this one.
No, this one might be my favorite!

I changed the pattern a bit when sewing all the pieces (outside, band, lining) together. I just sewed them all together at the same time, then turned the band over and "stitched in the ditch" to finish it off.
I should have gotten an inside picture of one because it has the deepest, greatest pockets ever!

Little Girls Tunic

I've been dying to make one of these little tunics for months now and finally got around to it before I head to a baby shower tonight. I made the arm holes a little too wide so it's a little big for Bexley, but hopefully it will fit this soon-to-arrive little girl next summer.

And a few hair pieces to go along with it.

Shower Curtain

We have some surprise visitors coming this weekend so I've been trying to get some things finished to help our little apartment out. Poor Bexley's bathroom has really been lacking. I bought this turquoise/aqua color fabric last summer for dirt cheap, but it wasn't quite enough to make a full shower curtain. So I found some more dirt cheap fabric in brown (to match the rug) and made it all work!

Too bad the bathroom is in such an awkward position that it's hard for me to get a good picture.

I really love all the cute shower curtain rings with something decorative on the end, but again, I'm too cheap to pay three times as much for them. Instead I added some little rosettes where the rings attach to give it the same kind of look.
